Influencing the Sub-conscious Mind – the Creator of Our Life

The sub-conscious mind creates, while the conscious mind thinks otherwise

The mind is composed of various parts, where each and every part acts simultaneously.

The lower mind or conscious mind is the store house of all our learning – acquired, as we had inherited it from our parents, ancestors and society we live in.

It is the outer self which thinks that one is separate from others.

It always looks outside, seeks outside, and searches outside for gratification, without understanding that it is the deeper inner self which manifests everything – every person, every event, and every situation in our life.

The outer mind never believes the presence of inner mind, which is manifesting everything in our life.

Conscious mind is the tool of the sub-conscious mind

The conscious mind believes that everything is created outside.  It waits for other people to help.

But, the truth is our inner mind creates, carries out (all actions) and is the doer. The outer mind is only a tool in the hands of the inner mind.

But the outer mind believes that it is the doer. However, the doer is inside – inside the outer self.

Switch words or Mantras are the words directed towards the Doer inside. They are prayers to the deeper inner self to do what is required.

We need the consent of the sub-conscious mind to make things happen

If the inner self is not doing anything, no one outside can do anything for you.

Pray and chant more till it is moved.  Unless it decides or it is made to decide, nothing can manifest outside!!!

You can do praying or chanting only.  Do that as many times as possible.

You cannot create any result.  Pray, wait till it manifests. Till such time, concentrate on the work on hand.

The deeper self is the doer.

The outer self is the tool for the inner self.  As any tool does the work only, you too have to carry out the work outside.

The deeper self is known as Sub-conscious mind or Guru/ God/ Nature/ Sakthi/ Shiva.

When the outer self submits to the inner self, it is called Kundalini.

How can you make your sub-conscious mind listen to you?

If you want your subconscious mind to listen to your prayers or request, you have to speak its language, the language that is known to it.

Switch words and mantras are the only means of communication by which you can influence the subconscious mind. Other than that, it can understand pictures.

Whatever is happening outside, you should not bring it inside

You should observe your mind as a third person. How to do that?

Let us say, you are going to meet a person for an important matter.

Let us assume that the scheduled meeting is at 4.30pm.

What will you do between 3.30 and 4.30 pm?

Whateveryou want todiscuss in the meeting, will get repeated inyour mind –“I should do this; I should not say that” and so on.

However, at the meeting you will be simply become blank if you are not prepared for the meeting.

Interestingly, whether you get yourself prepared or not prepared, the result will be the same.

At 5.30 pm you will come out of the meeting.

After coming out, you will be thinking about the meeting that took place between 4.30 t0 5.30 p.m. You don’t do this too.

The principle is, whatever is outside do not bring it inside and whatever is inside do not take it outside.

What do you mean by “Whatever is inside do not take it outside”?

Whatever you have inside you have no control. If any two persons are quarrelling, we also get angry.

You observe simply whatever is happening outside. After a few seconds it will go off (from the mind).

When you are angry, you are holding on to that anger and that is why it is staying with you. We must learn how to observe that too.

Instead of observing if we react then it becomes our karma

Everything is the drama of the mind.

We have understood everything wrongly. There is nothing called as external factors.

We have to go inside our mind. With your own mind you are entering into the others’ territory.

We have to try to do these. For that the switch words TOGETHER DIVINE will work.

You will become level-headed

When you keep on chanting TOGETHER DIVINE, you will be balanced and level-headed.

Then only the mind will be under our control.

Why the mind is not in control?

One part of the mind wants to be in harmony and other part of the mind wants to be in conflict.

If you go to a movie we want everything in that movie like love, comedy, action etc.

Whatever you except in the movie you except the same in life also. But unfortunately when we want comedy we get tragedy, when we want harmony we will get violence and so on.

We have to change it. We have to change our present life completely in the opposite direction. That alone will do us good.

Now, start chanting TOGETHER DIVINE for next 10 minutes.

Rule: Play Waiting Game

An Evil Spirit is waiting for hundreds of years to catch the Chola King!!!

There was a Chola King.  Some unwanted entity took possession of him, draining all his energy. He became poor. It looks like he eventually will become a beggar.

A sage advised him to visit Thiruvadai Marudoor, where there is a temple for Lord Siva.

The king visited the temple. The negative entity – the bad spirit, couldn’t enter the temple as divine energy is present in the temple.

So, it waited outside the temple, hoping it can re-possess the king once he returns back.

The King finished the Pooja. As advised by the sage, he took a different exit of the temple and became free for ever.

The belief is that the bad spirit is still waiting for the king.

These days, devotees visit the temple to ward off any evil spirits. They enter the temple one way and exit through another door.

Case History

Kanchana was about to attend an interview in one of the top IT company in India.

She was feeling tensed and nervous.

Before entering the interview hall, she said, “Tension you sit under the shade of the tree. They will not allow you inside. Please be here, when I finish the interview, I will come and pick you up”.

She finished the interview with no tension and left the hall through another way.

She says that interviews are no more stressful as she love this game of hide and seek.

You can use this technique to release any emotion that overtakes you.

I AM THE HERO AND THE VILLAIN, IN THE MOVIE (LIFE) DIRECTED BY ME

I have a BIG list of “shoulds”  

“I should get up from the bed very early in the morning”

“I should keep the house clean”

“I should avoid sweets” (a classic example)

This is a list that contains items that we desire to do, but unable to do.

Why can’t we implement them

Whenever we want to do something, and if we don’t, then there is some resistance inside us.

Though, interestingly we always find the reasons outside us, for not doing them.

For example, the classic reason we give for any major setback in life is, “My family is not supporting me doing anything concrete in life”.

Sometimes we say, “My family commitments don’t allow me to take up music as my hobby”.

How we developed this internal resistance

We learnt this resistance from our childhood days.

Whenever our parents want us to do something, we resisted it. When our parents asked us to study, we pretended that we are studying. When they told us not to do something, we did it without their knowledge.

This childhood behaviour became part of us, as internal resistance.

Mind Working in Opposite Directions

Our Life is dominated by two divisions that are inside our mind. One is the Parental Ego – our desires stem from here, and the other one the rebellion is our Child Ego.

There is always a conflict between the Parent Ego and the Child Ego. Desires coming from the Parent Ego are resisted by the Child Ego. This results in non-fulfilment of our desires.

This is like pressing acceleration and applying breaks at the same time. Why don’t we realise this? It’s because our desire is conscious, while the resistance is unconscious.

Examples

  • “I am working hard but not making money” – something in me is resisting making money. If I release that resistance, then making money is a piece of cake.
  • “I want to reduce my weight” – one part desires to be slim, while another part resists by eating all junk stuff.

How do I manage these two forces working in opposite direction

Let us take the example of not making enough money.

  1. You are also resisting the present state. You are not able to accept your present state, for example, the fact that you are poor or overweight. Accept your present by affirming,

“I accept myself totally”

“I accept myself even though I am poor (or overweight)”

  1. We should be aware of the two forces opposite to each other inside us.

“I want abundance of money” – is the desire. What’s the feeling behind lack of money? Welcome this feeling and release it. Release every feeling associated with lack of money. Affirm,

“I accept my lack of money”. Then start accepting the feelings and thoughts associated with it.

“I accept my feelings of shamefulness”

“I release my feeling of shamefulness”

“I release the thought, I can’t make money”

Then release your internal resistance.

“I release my resistance to earn ___________”.

  1. Resistance means opposition. Therefore, affirm,

“I release my own opposition to making millions”

(When we see opposition outside us, we see nothing but our own opposition)

Do tapping while affirming the above for better results. Should it be done routinely? For better results, do it regularly or as soon as we get those feelings again.

Nobody is blocking us. The block is only inside us.

Both Suspicion and Solution is inside us

Different Parts of the Mind

The Questioning Part of the Mind

Thoughts are negative or positive as classified by us. Whenever mind raises a doubt about a given situation treat it as a question. How do I do that?

For example, a thought may come to you. “Am I capable? Can I do this?” Don’t feel sad about this.

Treat this as a question by one part of the mind. One part of the mind wants to know that. So that part of the mind puts a question.

Provide an answer it, as if you answer to a person, in front of you.

The Answering Part of the Mind

Mind works by parts. One part of your mind genuinely asks the question, keeping your welfare in mind.

Instead of worrying about the questioning part, just answer that question. Then mind will ask stop raising doubts. Answering is done by another part.

We Can Make Our Life Situations Positive

If you raise yourself spiritually, everything will become positive around you.

No unwanted thoughts can come in front of Ramana Maharishi – the great sage of Arunachala.

Even a thief will keep his habitual self of robbing others quiet. Like that we could also influence the situations around us.

Negative Situations Begs you, “Please heal me!”

If you feel negative vibes around you, the message to you from it is, “please heal me”. If you can heal it, heal.

On the contrary if you are afraid of it, then move out of the situation.

Try to heal the negative vibes by calling the Sun God, and ask it to clear it. The negative vibes will turn into love and light and bless us in turn.

God is inside us – a gentle reminder to you

When somebody is angry it shows that he needs healing and he is asking for it indirectly. Somebody may ask it directly.

Instead of thinking of why they are behaving negatively, ask inside yourself what you can do to them.

What are the lessons we can learn from the situation.

We can’t change the circumstances and people around, we can only change ourselves. Why we are asked to change?

So as to remind us that god is inside us. Then automatically we become the god and we will have the power to heal.

Your spouse may not react if you do the following…He will simply accept whatever you do…

Saroja: I feel guilty.

Naran: Why?

Saroja: For the last 12 months I have been saving Rs.100/ to present a watch to my brother. I have to give that without my husband knowing it.  My conscience pricks that I am doing something wrong.

Naran: Welcome the guilt feeling and release it.

  • I welcome this terrible guilt. I release this guilt.

Naran: Is it still there?

Saroja: Yes. More than guilt, fear is there.

Naran: What are the thoughts in your state of fear?

Saroja: If he comes to know I will be doomed. This thought is obsessing me.

Naran: Fearing something means unconsciously or secretly means that we want this to happen. Do you want your life to be doomed by your husband?

Saroja: No.

Naran: Then accept it and release it.

  • I release my wanting to be doomed.

Saroja: Sir, my fear is, if he comes to know, he will abuse me. I will be not allowed to see my parents and brother.

  • I accept that I want to be physically abused by my husband. I let go of this fear.
  • In addition, I let go of my desire to be abused by my husband.
  • I want to stop meeting my parents. I accept this desire and let go of my desire to stop meeting my parents.
  • I release my state of insecurity because I am safe.

Repeat.

Saroja: I feel better.  I feel comfortable.

Naran: Why do you want to present a watch to your brother on his birth day?

Saroja: I am happy to see him happy.

Naran: How do you know that your gift will make him happy?

Saroja: He does not have one.

Naran: Your gift will make him love you better.

Saroja: Yes. I want to feel loved by him. I need his love.

Naran: Accept your need and desire for his love and release.

  • I accept that I need his love and there is desire for his approval. I release my desire for his approval.

Repeat.

Will you be ready to tell your husband about this?

Saroja: No.

Naran: Release again you insecurity.

Saroja: There still some fear.

  • I release my insecurity.

Saroja: Instead of him coming to know about this, I think rather it is better for me to tell him.

On the day of the incident, she describes in her own words

My fear started increasing.  There was tension in the stomach.

  • I accept there is tension in the stomach. I release my tension in the stomach.

My body was becoming heavy.

  • I accept my body is becoming heavy. I release the heaviness.

I am ok now.

  • I accept that I am ok. I release this okay feeling.
  • Will he shout at me if I tell him about the watch gift? Let go, let go.

Silence for a few seconds.

  • I can’t face his eyes. Let go, let go.

Some more silence.

  • How do I tell him? Let go, let go.

Silence again. I gave the cup of coffee to my husband. My hands become cold.

  • I accept my hands had become cold. I release the cold sensation in my hands.

My hands shivered.

  • I accept that I am shivering and I release this shivering sensation.
  • I release my state of insecurity (I repeat this affirmation few times).

Suddenly all my fears were gone and I became curious to know how he will react when I tell him about the watch gift. After taking the coffee, suddenly my husband asked me, “Your brother phoned up. It seems every year you buy him a gift. He asked me to remind you. What is your plan for this year?” “I am planning to buy him a watch”.

Lot of happiness joy enthusiasm fills me up.

  • I accept that I am joyful. I release my joy.

“That is a good idea. We will buy one. “I told him easily, “I have already saved Rs.1200/- towards that“. “Fantastic, then we will buy the watch today itself”.

When I went inside to change my dress there was joy and happiness.

  • I accept I am joyful. Can I release this joyful state? Yes. I release my state of joy. I release my happiness.

When I released my feelings of joy, an aura of peace was there, which can’t be described in words.

Obsession Will Not Make It Happen

If you are obsessed of anything, it may not happen. I want you to change your mind-set and be relaxed.

Oli

I am always scared of losing my love. I know I became obsessed and I really try to be relaxed and leave it to divine.

However, I get impatient as I lost my first love like this.  That’s why I think it is going to happen again.

Naran

Whenever you get the fear just say within, “Why this fear”?

The mind always has a tendency to think and feel as it did in the past.

The event may be new. The feelings and thoughts are never new. The same feelings and the same thoughts are produced every day.

As long as we think that we are mute spectators of events, we cannot do anything.

You are not your mind. When it produces some feeling or thought, which you don’t like, you have the ability to release it.

When a feeling arises, or when a thought comes out, just say:

  • Can I release this thought?
  • Why should I keep this thought?
  • Is this thought helping me or hindering me?
  • If it hinders me, can I release it?
  • If the answer is “yes” say, “I release this thought.”

Say this as many times as possible so that you are out of the fear.

This method will help you come out of fear.

Fear always manifests what you don’t want in life.

You have told me not to be obsessed and to relax. But how can I able to know my limits? Can’t I have right to express my feeling? Can’t I pray or try to regain my lost harmony between us?

I am chanting mantras with full faith on divine. How can I know that there is still a hope? Because we are neither astrologer nor we can talk to divine.

I am going to say my feeling to him tomorrow after chanting “OM CHAM NAMAHA, OM JAM NAMAHA”.

When you are obsessed with worry and fear you are breaking the quantum rules.

Your fear will manifest the one which you don’t want, instead of getting what you want.

Desire something. Quieten your mind, relax and release it to the divine field.

Approaching anything with the calm and relaxed mind has got better chance of getting what we want.

How to remain calm and relaxed? That is where the surrendering attitude enters.

By surrendering the desire to the divine field, you accept what the divine offers. Surrendering makes you think that whatever divine offer is good for me.

Painless World

I am diagnosed with pain in the greater trochanteric region on the left leg. Doctor has asked me to take pain-killer tablets for a couple of days and observe.

I have back pain for the past 14 years. I stopped working because of that. Now, the back pain occurs only if I strain myself for long hours. Otherwise, daily activities do not cause the pain in the back.

About 8 years back, I was diagnosed with Spondylosis when I had pain in the neck as well as on the outer side of the left elbow.

Then please suggest me something so that I forget him easily as I am trying to get over him.

But, as we work at the same place, it’s really difficult for me to see him every time everywhere around me and that turns me off.

And I am full of sad feelings.

Or tell me how I can get my real soul mate.

I could understand your pangs of love.

Only for your highest good I suggested that.

I honestly feel that you should lead a happy life.

Can everybody be happy?

One has to learn to be happy in spite of events.

When we want something intently, and when we resist what is happening then what we get is pain. Though we want pleasure, our resistance to any event and our incomplete understanding of the divine order, gives us pain only.

Just observe what is going on in the mind.

  • As and when any thought come, just say, “Why not I release this? Yes, I let go of this thought?”
  • Release everything – every feeling, every thought – that prevents you to forget him.
  • If any thought or feeling does not get released, find out the desire behind this feeling or thought.
    If there is a desire to possess him release that desire.
  • If there is a desire to change him or the event release that desire too.

Do the releasing techniques as given above.

Other steps

If you can buy Bach flower remedies from your local homeopathy shop then buy:

  • CHICORY (to overcome the love pangs)
  • WALNUT (to release resistance and break away )
  • WILLOW (to overcome resentment and anger towards friends)
  • HORNBEAM (to move on)

“You are entitled to action only. This is the Law of Karma. Leave the fruit to me” – says Krishna.

A simple way to implement it

Living with Awareness is an important subject. If you apply this technique, you do not need attend lectures on Bhagavat Gita.

Living with awareness is a life process. If it is done regularly, it can change our lives significantly.

Do it systematically.

Play it like a game. Do not think it as an exercise.

To put it simple, you release all thoughts and feelings prior to action.

Releasing thoughts associated with an action

You get a phone call.

We assume it is a bad call.

We think and get irritated, why I should get such calls during late nights.

Can you release this irritation? Affirm, “I let go this irritation”.

Our actions are contaminated with unwanted thoughts

Whenever you are about to perform an action, it is preceded by thoughts.

Release those thoughts.

That’s does not mean you are prevented from doing the action. You just do the action.

Then you are in the present – without any thought, and only doing actions.

If some other thoughts come, tell them, “You can come later. This is not the time for you now.”

If you do any action, without any thought or feeling, then its 100 percent completed.

You are entitled only to act

You are not entitled to think or feel before an action.

If you tell the thought to go, it will go.

After the action, if the results are not to our expectations, we will comment badly about concerned people. We will remark, “I wasted so much time with them”.

Affirm then, “I release the thought. I let go this thought.”

When you put a counter thought like this, the mind gets confused as it cannot continuously change its thought flow or pattern.

After releasing all the thoughts that appears in your mind, comes the time for your action(s).
