How to find child-like happiness?
Naran S Balakumar
“NAMASHIVAYAM”
Hari says, “You desire. But leave that to me”. But, Shiva says, “Don’t have any desires”. Though both appear to be a paradox, both of them are true.
Were you not happy as a child of one year?
Yes! I was happy when I was a child of one year. All the people got attracted to me.
What is that I had?
What is that I sought?
Why I was so happy then and not happy now?
Why I am seeking happiness outside?
How do I reconcile myself to the state of a child?
Come back to the state of a child, so that you can dance like me (Siva).
The eternal dancer is Lord Siva. Only the dancer knows where to keep the next step.
NAMASHIVAYAM – Shiva! I bow to you.
Lord Shiva is the only god who makes others happy – SHIVATHARAAYA NAMAHA.
Think about Shiva and prostrate to him. One is bound to be happy.
Dancing inside the heart, chant the mantra.
You may die in the process. Your breath might stop. Yet chant this mantra.
Be a Saint or Surrender your desires
One says that ‘Surrender to me I will take care of your life’.
The other person says ‘Don’t seek anything at all and be like a saint’.
Which to be sought?
But, I have the desire to follow both. Both are charming. Both are good as well as attractive.
When I say ‘Namashivayam’, I want to die with Namashivayam.
When I say ‘Hari Narayana Gopalam’, I want to dance and merge with that.
However, there is a third person, who says, “Don’t dance. Don’t have a desire means…I will tell you. Seek me”. (Lord Muruga through Guru Gugan Mantra)
