Meditation from Naran Sir for 7 April 2020

Baktha Prahalad was sent to Gurukula to learn the Rajadharma of Rakshasas. Normally the class used to start with “Hiranyakaya Namaha’. But Prahalad used to say “Om Namo Narayana”. He taught this also to other children.

Once Hiranya visited the gurukula where Prahalad was initiated and taught by the teachers.

Hiranya: “Prahalad come, sit on my lap.” Prahalad sat on the lap of Hiranya.

With so much of love in his heart, Hiranya asked Prahalad, “Have you learnt Rajadharma?”. What is it? Did you not learn how to behave with friends and enemies? This is the basic.”

Prahalad: “My dear father, your question is wrong. It is wrong to discriminate between friends and foes. When you think Narayana is inside of every person, even inanimate object, the world is Narayanaswaroopa. When you think Narayana is inside of every person, everyone will be friendly and everyone will turn friendly with us. All are my friends and if you talk and behave as if you are meeting Narayana, talking with Narayana, enmity will get dissolved.”

Hiranya got terribly angry, ragious and scolded the teachers. But teachers told him we are helpless. We cannot control Prahalad and he is preaching the same thing to all other children. And children follow him only. We are helpless prabhu.

Hiranya: “Prahalad, I don’t know which Demon is inside you. “

Prahalad: “Father, the same. The one who is dwelling in you is also in me.”

Prahalad was strong in his conviction that Narayana is inside of all.

Let us also try to cultivate this attitude faithfully, particularly at this time of darkness by chanting

OM VISHWATHMANE NAMAHA.
